About Me

I genuinely love love.  I believe if we can create healthier relationships this world will be better in an unimaginable way.  We can be our best selves in this world when we have support, are in thriving relationships and can be a part of the community.  The tricky part is that we also get some of our deepest wounds in relationships and that can make doing the things we benefit from so deeply also so very challenging.

I started out my education in music as a classical saxophonist. At music school I found myself surprisingly unhappy, feeling called to work with people and shifted paths.  I deeply enjoy the process of therapy, of being in relationship with another human and helping them work through and heal old wounds so that they can fully show up in the world with all of their unique gifts and authentic selves most beautifully.

As a fellow human on this planet, I have experienced my own challenges and have found the journey of working through pain points and old emotional scar tissue to be both a challenging and heart-opening journey, that lightens your being and allows you to fully take in the joy, love and life experiences around you.  Romantic relationships had historically been challenging for me and as a result, I became committed to learning all I could about how to have a healthy relationship and how to support others in creating healthy relationships.

After years of educating myself and professional training, I found Imago Therapy through the challenges I was personally experiencing with my now husband.  I was mystified by the trials we were having after having dug deep into how I picked relationships, how to have healthy boundaries and how to have healthy conflict conversations.  As an EMDR therapist, I had also done my fair share of EMDR processing along with parts work, expecting that my own healing would help me see my blocks, integrate the different aspects of myself and be more present to create healthier relationships, which it also did do and there was also something missing.

With kind helpful insistence by the therapist we were working with at the time, we attended an Imago Couple’s Getting The Love You Want Workshop and it changed the trajectory of our relationship and our lives.  Imago was the missing piece that dug deeper into the root of our challenges and provided a road map for us for both our personal healing and relational work. Now I use Imago in sessions, I live and breathe the model in my marriage and thankfully I have this tool as a parent, friend, daughter and sister.  I cannot imagine another way of being in relationship.

I received my Master’s in Social Work from Syracuse University and have worked in domestic violence, substance abuse and community mental health organizations. With the assistance of my husband Travis, I'm am Imago Workshop Presenters for the Getting The Love You Want and Keeping The Love You Find Workshops and I additionally provide Couples’ Intensives in partnership with The Marriage Restoration Project.

Fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), I partner with The Head Strong Project to provide trauma therapy to veterans and active service members.  Additionally, .

I'm also a member of Imago Relationships North America (IRNA), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing International Organization (EMDRIA), the American Association of Sexual Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and The National Association for Social Workers (NASW).
